FR APLEX AEx Series is a solution for hazardous environments, capable of withstanding vibration, shock, corrosion and able to operate under the condition of exposure to gas, vapor, powder and dust.
The AEx Series offers Panel PCs (AEx-8XXP/9XXAP), Displays (AEx-1XXP) and Box PCs (AEx-2410/2411) which are packed with different level of computing performance required in the harshest environment applications.
The AEx Series Panel PC’s Display are Sun Light Readable with a variety of I/O including 1 x GbE LAN, RS-232/422/485 and VGA, with the display available in a selection of sizes; 15″ , 16″, 19″ and 21.5″ LCD.

In a potentially explosive atmosphere, an explosion can occur when three elements exist: Flammable and combustible substances and Ignition sources. The equipment in these environments are required to have such high safety certification to ensure that each stage operates safely and accurately.
APLEX AEx Series solutions have all passed the ATEX/IECEx/C1D2 certificate for intrinsic safety, meaning they are suitable and safe enough for use in Ex-zones.
- Zone 0: Where Gases/vapours in an explosive atmosphere are present continuously for long periods of time or can frequently occur.
- Zone1: Where Gases/vapours in an explosive atmosphere are likely to occur occasionally in normal operation.
- Zone 2: Where Gases/vapours in an explosive atmosphere are not likely to occur in normal operation but, if it does occur, will persist for a short period only.
- C1D2: Certified to ensure ATEx Series Products do not create sparks which could be detonated when exposed to Gases/vapours.
- Zone 20: Where dusts in an explosive atmosphere are present continuously for long periods of time or will frequently occur.
- Zone21: Where Dusts in an explosive atmosphere are likely to occur occasionally in normal operation.
- Zone 22: Where Dusts in an explosive atmosphere are not likely to occur in normal operation, but if dusts do occur, they will persist for a short period only.
- C2D2/C3: Certified to ensure ATEx Series Products will not create sparks which could be detonated, where dusts are present in an explosive atmosphere.
