DFI have launched the HM920-QM87 with BGA 1364 packaging technology for the latest 4th generation Intel® Core™ processor family. The HM920-QM87 is built on 22-nanometer process technology offering higher processing performance, superior graphics display support, and evolutionary improvements in system memory and I/O interfaces. It is DFI’s new COM Express product that supports the mobile-based Intel® QM87 Express chipset boasting a 5~15% CPU performance increase over the previous generations.
The integrated 4th generation Intel® HD Graphics engine provides smooth flash playback, rich 2D/3D graphics with high quality playback, and Intel®Clear Video Technology that supports advanced imaging capabilities for Blu-Ray and other high definition video processing such as image stabilization, gamut mapping and frame rate conversion. The enhancements in the instructions of Intel® Advanced Vector Extensions provide a huge performance improvement in floating-point-intensive computations which are a key part of digital signal and image processing applications such as medical imaging and weather radar. The Intel® graphics accelerator integrated in the HM920-QM87 also offers 1 VGA and 1 LVDS display interfaces.
In system memory, the HM920-QM87 new mobile platform with 2 DDR3L SODIMM sockets delivers maximum performance with up to 16GB. The optional onboard SSD is a lot faster than conventional rotating hard disks and it offers the persistent function of data storage. In addition, the module is also packed with high performance and flexible I/O with the mobile-based Intel® QM87 Express chipset. It provides 4 Serial ATA interfaces supporting RAID 0/1/5/10, 1 Intel® Gigabit Ethernet Phy interface with iAMT9.0 as well as the following interfaces: 8 USB, 1 LPC, 1 SMBus, 1 I2C and 1 IDE. The HM920-QM87 also comes with multiple expansion configurations, including 1 PCIe x16, 6 PCIe x1 and 4 PCI interfaces, to offer additional capabilities for various demands.
The HM920-QM87, a new mobile embedded module board with all these combined features described above, is an ideal product for a whole range of applications requiring a stable revision-controlled platform, such as factory automation, digital signage, medical equipment and kiosk embedded applications.
