Fieldbus Gateways – Further Information

Fieldbus Gateways are intelligent PC-based controllers of nodes on a network, using fieldbus modules to communicate with machines/nodes in the correct protocol. The fieldbus gateway can then translate the data and feed back into a HMI or similar control hub managing and presenting the data. They are designed primarily for factory automation.

These fieldbus computers offer reliable performance for factory automation in a gateway field or controller cabinets. Fieldbus gateways can be used to connect serial plant devices with protocols such as EtherCAT, Modbus and PROFIBUS.
