ASRock Industrial introduces the iEP-7020E Series Industrial IoT Controller, powered by the 13th Gen Intel Core™ Embedded and Industrial Processors (Raptor Lake-P), providing exceptional performance and scalability. The Series includes Intel Iris Xe graphics for rapid AI processing and Intel In-Band ECC support for reliable control of crucial processes at the edge. With its compact form factor, the iEP-7020E Series offers flexible I/O and expansion options, supporting Intel TCC and TSN for real-time computing to seamlessly connect edge devices.

The system’s rugged and fanless design ensures functionality in demanding environments, featuring a wide operating temperature range of -40~70°C and 9-36VDC wide range DC-IN power inputs. This Edge Controller and IoT Gateway is ideal for smart manufacturing, factory automation, robotics, process automation, smart city, smart retail, AI surveillance, and other industries.

Equipped with Intel Iris Xe graphics and In-Band ECC support, this intelligent and reliable edge computing solution delivers seamless control over crucial processes. Its flexible I/O and expansion design, combined with Intel TCC and TSN support, ensures flawless connectivity among edge devices in a compact form factor.

With a fan-less and rugged design, this system guarantees optimal functionality in harsh environments, featuring a wide operating temperature range of -40~70°C and 9-36VDC wide range DC-IN power inputs. The iEP-7020E Series Industrial IoT Controller comprises three powerful and versatile models- iEP-7020E-000 (Basic SKU), iEP-7020E-001 (PoE SKU), and iEP-7020E-002 (5LAN SKU) powered by 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i7/i5 Embedded and Industrial Processors (Raptor Lake-P). The performance hybrid architecture supports up to 14 cores and 20 threads, ensuring optimized performance and energy efficiency while delivering up to 1.08x faster single-thread performance and up to 1.05x faster multi-thread performance.

With up to 96 execution units (EUs) for graphics boosts, the Intel Iris Xe Graphics coupled with dual-channel DDR4 3200MHz SO-DIMM DRAM up to 64GB, and Intel In-Band ECC support, fast AI inference use cases are guaranteed reliable data integrity.

Rich IO Connections and Flexible Configurations

Introducing the iEP-7020E Series Industrial IoT Controller, designed by ASRock Industrial to provide enhanced CPU and GPU performance for streamlined solutions in edge computing. These intelligent and reliable controllers come in compact fan-less sizes of 55 x 170 x 134 mm (W x H x D) for iEP-7020E-000(Basic SKU)/002(5LAN SKU) and 68 x 170 x 134 mm (W x H x D) for iEP-7020E-001(PoE SKU) and feature rich I/O extensions to connect multiple factory equipment with ease.

Equipped with four RS232/422/485 serial ports, one 4DIs/4DOs with power-on/reset, three USB 3.2 Gen 2×1, one USB 2.0 and one line out/mic in, the iEP-7020E Series also include three 2.5GbE Intel i226-IT LAN with vPro support, two 1GbE Intel i210-AT LAN (PoE SKU/5LAN SKU) plus optional two Intel i210AT supporting IEEE 802.3AF PoE (PoE SKU) with Intel TCC and TSN for real-time computing at the edge. Additionally, they support two DP++ 1.4a for close-to-perfect computer vision processing, while implementing a flexible I/Os design to satisfy diverse and simultaneous IIoT application requirements.

RF Capabilities and Expandability for Flawless IT/OT Connection

The iEP-7020E Series offers advanced communication capabilities for seamless data collection and transmission in IIoT applications. These controllers support 4G LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, and BT 5.2 RF technologies, and come with optional 4G LTE/5G or Wi-Fi antennas. The iEP-7020E-000 model features one M.2 Key B socket (3042/3052/2280) for 4G LTE/5G module/SATA3 SSD storage, while the iEP-7020E-001 and iEP-7020E-002 models feature one M.2 Key E (2230) for Wi-Fi/BT module, along with a Nano SIM card slot for 4G/5G. Storage options include a SATA3 connector for 2.5” SSD (iEP-7020E-000) and one M.2 Key M 2280 for NVMe SSD. The RF connections with Intel In-Band Manageability allow for remote management, OTA updates, and M2M protocol support to easily connect IT and OT.

Rugged Design and Robust Power for Demanding Environments

The iEP-7020E Series boasts embedded quality that ensures long-term reliability and durability, making them ideal for deployment in harsh environments. With a rugged design and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 70°C (iEP-7020E-000), these controllers offer high shock and vibration resistance, ensuring dependable functionality in challenging conditions. Additionally, they feature complete power protection with OVP, UVP, OCP, and 80V surge protection, providing robust power of 9-36VDC for iEP-7020E-000/002 and 19-36VDC for iEP-7020E-001, which supports phoenix-type connectors for industrial applications. The Series also come with TPM 2.0 built-in to establish a trusted computing platform for industrial security.

Moreover, the controllers are equipped with unique features such as one storage/one user-define/two debug LEDs lighting signals that carry out the debugging function, reducing machine downtime. The Series also offer various mounting options such as wall mount, VESA mount, and DIN rail, providing flexibility for diverse application needs.
